After 10 years Loid left Italy and the life he had created there.
Loid had overstayed his tourist visa for the last 4 years in Italy. Living as an illegal alien in a foreign country, under constant threat of deportation, distorted his reality. The paranoia he had experienced his whole life was now amplified and made real. The very real threat of loosing everything and never being able to return to Italy caused panic attacks and psychosis. All because gay marriage was not yet recognized by ether country.
Loid's return to Los Angeles in the Fall of 2009 was difficult and full of uncertainties. Miraculously Loid passed though customs and immigration both in Italy and USA without anyone noticing how many years he had been living illegally. Loid had taken anxiety medication for the first time to get on that train heading towards Rome and the airport. He must have taken too much because his memory is completely blank about the events at ether airport. He remembers waiting at the train station which is directly below The Skyscraper of Rimini in Italy and then he awoke in Los Angeles in a studio with a loft at Chris J's new house under constriction.
Loid was in a state of complete psychosis the first few months after arriving in Los Angeles. Chris J found a psychologist that Loid began seeing regularly for that first year he was back in the USA. Loid tried so hard to fix that part of him that was broken, paranoid and delusional. He had only one goal and desire... to return to his home in Italy, to his cat and all of his friends.
The year before, Democrat Barack Obama was elected president of the USA and there was already news and rumors that legalizing gay marriage was finally a real possibility. Loid hoped that this would happen soon enough to fix his problem of illegal immigration. A problem that had haunted him since his boyfriend from Argentina was deported in the early 90s and since living as an illegal alien in Italy himself.
Over the course of that first year back in L.A. (2009-2010) the Italian came to see Loid 3 times. However the Italian did not make those trips to Los Angeles to make a choice about the future of their relationship. The Italian kept coming back to see Loid just to confirm and understand the choice he had already made.

The "Franky Lloyd was Right" house, built over a waterfall, was a dream home. Building a home is something everyone should do in their lifetime.
The dream did not last long. Within a couple years the Italian Experience began as a way to escape the Topanga Canyon Experience that was ending in a confusion of hurt feelings and broken friendships.
Waterfalls symbolize the process of letting go, the process of cleansing and the continuous flow of energy and life.
